Hardware Engineer, Electrical Systems Integration

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in embedded/mobile system design, hardware architecture, board design, board bring-up, New Product Introduction (NPI) and product shipment.
  • Experience with architecture and schematic design of circuit boards, including chipset, memory, communication interfaces, and power.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer electronics, mobile devices, medical devices or wearable devices designing.
  • Experience in bringing multiple products to mass production.
  • Experience in System on a chip (SoC), memories, power supply, camera, sensors and analog design.
  • Experience with microprocessor and micro-controller design, with the knowledge of embedded environments.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Chrome OS or Android embedded environments.

Our Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team designs and builds the
hardware and software technologies that power all of Google's services. Our computational challenges are complex and unique, enabled by cutting-edge custom hardware designed and made in-house. As a hardware engineer, you will design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You will see those systems from concept all the way through to high-volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers, affecting millions of Google users.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop hardware architecture for next generation systems.
  • Design, implement, debug and characterize embedded systems geared for mobile applications.
  • Lead new design concepts through exploration, prototyping, development, and into mass production.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including software, mechanical engineering, industrial design, and outside partners.
