Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development.
- 7 years of experience leading technical project strategy, ML design, and optimizing industry-scale ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
- 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in toolchain, evaluation metrics design, data management techniques, or Android system development.
- Experience with implementing compute-heavy algorithms on mobile systems.
- Experience prototyping productive and innovative system from the ground up.
- Ability to collaborate across US and APAC sites and timezones.
- Ability to build mobile products in Android system.
- Ability to modulate between development and team mentorship depending on the phase of team and projects.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
In this role, you will be responsible to govern and grow the Singapore division. You will also work with engineers, researchers, product managers across Google to design and implement Evaluations, Metrics, Tooling to enhance the development and deployment experiences for intelligent applications on Pixel and Android, leveraging the latest on-device and server based techniques. This includes tasks such as platform design, evaluation methodologies, metrics design, and data analysis. You will be collecting, training, and evaluating data and quality for a variety of use cases, working with teams across Google to design and implement new infrastructure and tooling for Pixel and Android AI development.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Provide craft site strategy, communication, and alignment across the PA, functions, and geographies to accelerate the development and improve the quality of Android AI.
- Grow the team’s impact, build team's goal and strategy, and align with stakeholders on multiple priorities
- Design high-level strategy and technical roadmaps to enhance intelligent applications development, with focus on evaluation, quality, and performance on Pixel and Android in a private and safe manner.
- Identify the key technical challenges and architect solutions such as crafting evaluation strategies, optimization goals and performance techniques to for a multitude of systems and processes
- Influence and inform executive leads about the technical direction. Interface with multitude of teams across PAs and cross-functional partners to influence cross-team priority and roadmap.
