Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in consumer electronics.
- 5 years of experience in full NPI cycles as a Product Development lead.
- 5 years of experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.
- 5 years of experience in all common materials and manufacturing methods for consumer electronics.
Preferred qualifications:
- 10 years of work experience in consumer product design.
- Experience in all vendor arrangements including Contract Manufacturing (CM), Joint Design Manufacturing Model (JDM) and Original Device Manufacturer (ODM).
- Excellent communication skills for cross-function collaboration and vendor management.

As a member of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team, you use your creativity and range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of engineering problems. As a mechanical engineer, you participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts. You work in a manufacturing and product oriented development environment and collaborate with vendors and outside sources in order to see parts through to manufacture. The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.Responsibilities
- Analyze mission-critical data and implement engineering solutions that demonstrate unique and innovative approach level solutions to system-level problems.
- Deliver areas, components and systems through multiple milestones while owning project scoping, internal roadmaps, managing project priorities, and allocating technical resources within the program.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives affecting multiple product teams across the Business Unit (BU), including publishing technical documents, teaching design classes and creating standards to resolve urgent, time-dependent issues and prevent program roadblocks, while mentoring engineers to grow the team's technical capabilities and regularly presenting to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain processes, procedures, methods, and tests with foresight while participating in Google community contribution activities such as recruiting, promotion and hiring committees.
