About the job
Google’s technical infrastructure — its global network of data centers and fiber-optic cables — is the essential foundation powering all our products and AI capabilities across Alphabet. Our team promotes and defends Google’s technical infrastructure story, which includes the community and energy programs that make our infrastructure possible. As part of the Google Cloud Communications team in Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA), it’s our job to help inform and educate customers, partners, opinion leaders — and our own employees — about the benefits of our products, our company culture and values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the global external communications lead for the workforce and community programs supporting Google’s infrastructure around the world, designing and executing an “always-on” program highlighting community impact at scale.
- Develop and maintain close, productive relationships with journalists, key partners, and influential creators across traditional and new media to drive awareness, excitement, and factual reporting about Google’s global infrastructure.
- Develop, write, and edit compelling communications materials, including statements, story pitches, and announcements.
- Be a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to key business partners.
- Manage crisis communications scenarios, when necessary. Think creatively, take smart risks, and address tough issues as they arise.
