Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java or Go.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
- Experience in architecting for resilience or managing data integrity/reliability systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Ability to analyze systems, specifically Non-Abstract Large-Scale System Design (NALSD).
- Ability to do in-depth research into unfamiliar products and technical stacks to identify systemic vulnerabilities.
- Ability to drive executional impact through excellent written and verbal communication skills.

In this role, you will lead the Resilience Enablement team with a dedicated focus on Data Integrity. Our mission is to ensure Google can recover rapidly from severe system stress, infrastructure compromise, or significant failures by maintaining robust technical and human capabilities.
Our team is primarily focused on software engineering, drawing from a different mix of software development and reliability engineering backgrounds. Comprising both Software Engineers and Software Engineers-Site Reliability Engineers, we bring deep expertise in databases, storage systems, backup and recovery, and the management of strategic programs across the company. This is an ideal environment for those seeking a challenge that intersects with hundreds of Google services. In this role, you can collaborate with various teams and deliver a broad impact across a wide range of products.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Lead the team responsible for Resilience Enablement and Data Integrity, ensuring the reliability and scalability of critical emergency systems.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a different team of engineers, fostering career growth and technical excellence that embodies Google’s values and prioritizes psychological safety and collaborative success.
- Advocate a customer-centric roadmap that abstracts data integrity complexities and eliminates operational friction to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Partner with cross-functional Emergency Resilience teams to drive strategic alignment and maintain a supportive, unified organizational atmosphere.
- Identify areas of commonality across existing tools and methods, and work to consolidate solutions, reduce chaos, and simplify the workflows of data storage customers.
