Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in a data science field.
Preferred qualifications:
- 2 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a relevant PhD degree.
- Experience using natural language processing (NLP) models.
- Experience solving product or business problems using investigative, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or statistical methods.

gTech Ads is responsible for all support and media and technical services for customers big and small across our entire Ad products stack. We help our customers get the most out of our Ad and Publisher products and guide them when they need help. We provide a range of services from enabling better self help and in-product support, to providing better support through interactions, setting up accounts and implementing ad campaigns, and providing media solutions for customers business and marketing needs and providing complex technical and measurement solutions along with consultative support for our large customers. These solutions range from bespoke and customized ones for our customers to scalable support for millions of customers worldwide. Based on the evolving needs of our ads customers, we partner with Sales, Product and Engineering teams within Google to develop better solutions, tools, and services to improve our products and enhance our client experience. As a cross-functional and global team, we ensure our customers get the best return on investment with Google and we remain a trusted partner.
As a Business Data Scientist, you will help solve the complex and evolving needs of gTech Strategy and Operations, transforming it into a data-driven powerhouse. Our core mission is to make Google Ads products more usable for our customers by innovating advanced solutions in machine learning, forecasting, and generative AI. In this fluid, collaborative environment, your technical skills will have a direct impact on empowering our customers, support agents, and engineering partners for success in AI/ML.

Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of cutting-edge, data-driven solutions - with a focus on large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to solve key business problems. Help optimize support operations, automate case routing, and make Google Ads products more usable for our customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in strategy and operations, go-to-market, gTech, and engineering to identify challenges and opportunities, translating business needs into actionable data science solutions.
- Contribute actively to "problem solutioning" and "solution translating," guiding projects from ideation to implementation and ensuring complex findings are communicated clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Help drive the future of gTech by staying ahead of the curve, applying emerging trends in data science to take on the impossible problems that stand between gTech and success.
