Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5 years of work experience with analysis applications (extracting insights, performing statistical analysis, or solving business problems), and coding (Python, R, SQL) or 2 years of experience with a Master's degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

Geographic Data Service (GeoDS) Consumer team’s mission is to drive positive user and business outcomes at Geo by enabling and advocating data driven decision making. Although an evergreen challenge, this requires a yearly strategic reframing to ensure our team’s work and ambition aligns with top level themes at the Geo level (and beyond) and to guide our investments in growing our data science capabilities. Strategic pillars across GeoDS Consumer provide deep user understanding to inform strategic and product roadmap decisions. Deliver high impact data science/analytics capabilities. Create operational accountability xGeo to deliver key results.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the core metrics and measurement framework to track Gemini features within Driving Experience, journey toward becoming a daily habit for billions of drivers.
  • Develop query classification methods to identify user needs and friction to inform quality hillclimbing.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis into the user journey to identify and eliminate friction, improving the conversion from invocation to successful task completion.
  • Partner with Engineering to detect and resolve critical loss patterns—such as query understanding and geospatial accuracy—using advanced classification and evaluation strategies.
  • Provide data-driven guidance on launch decisions and long-term strategy for next-gen capabilities like Proactive Assistance and Gemini Live.
