Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Experience in prototyping interactive design concepts to test ideas (e.g., Figma, Claude).
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, engineers, or researchers) to build digital products.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with, or a strong interest in, designing for AI, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), or agentic workflows.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain design rationale and translate technical complexity into intuitive user experiences.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguous problem spaces with guidance from executive UX leaders.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. Responsibilities

  • Translate complex technical capabilities like foundational models and agentic workflows into intuitive, seamless interface designs and user paradigms for Google developers.
  • Deliver high-quality user journeys, wireframes, interaction models, and pixel-perfect mockups that adhere to and evolve Google's design systems.
  • Build interactive prototypes to quickly test, iterate, and demonstrate novel artificial intelligence (AI) interactions (e.g., chat interfaces, inline code suggestions, autonomous agent.).
  • Collaborate daily with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Research Scientists to align design solutions with technical feasibility and product constraints.
  • Partner with User Experience (UX) researchers to synthesize developer feedback, usability testing, and telemetry data into actionable design improvements. Take ambiguous product requirements and break them down into well-defined user problems and iterative design phases.
