About the job

Google Cloud’s mission is to make every business successful through AI by combining cutting-edge technology, infrastructure, and talent. AI/ML software engineers in Cloud bridge the gap between pioneering models and a massive product vehicle reaching billions. Our talent density and AI-powered tools drive rapid development, rooted in a culture of empowerment and a bias to action. In this role, you aren’t just building technology; you’re shaping the frontier of enterprise and driving the evolution of advanced models.

As the Managing Director for Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE), you will lead the strategic outlook and execution for an organization of expert builder-consultants dedicated to the "last mile" integration of Google’s AI suite across EMEA enterprises. You will act as an executive sponsor, guiding large and complex customers through the transition from AI experimentation to scalable, production-grade deployments of Google Cloud’s suite of AI solutions. You will utilize a blend of deep technical architecting and high-level commercial acumen to ensure that enterprise-wide implementations—from sophisticated multi-agent orchestration to holistic workspace integration—deliver transformational business value and drive sustained, massive-scale platform consumption.

Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. We deliver enterprise-grade solutions that leverage Google’s cutting-edge technology, and tools that help developers build more sustainably. Customers in more than 200 countries and territories turn to Google Cloud as their trusted partner to enable growth and solve their most critical business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Direct FDE to own the technical lifecycle of major AI oriented projects, accelerating the move to fully integrated, secure production environments on customer infrastructure.
  • Establish definitive best practices for connecting AI Solution orchestration with complex hybrid enterprise architectures and legacy databases.
  • Partner with sales and tech leadership to define engagement requirements, deploying talent to high-stakes strategic AI accounts and advising C-suite stakeholders.
  • Serve as an executive bridge to Product Engineering, converting field insights from enterprise deployments into critical roadmap features for Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise, and other AI enabled enterprise solutions.
  • Foster a high-performance culture, recruiting and retaining industry talent at the forefront of GenAI and agentic workflows.
