Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in developing antennas for consumer electronics, and managing the complete wireless hardware product development cycle.
  • 4 years of experience with Electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools and using RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, protocol and signaling testers) and antenna anechoic chamber.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience in scripting and automation tools for data collection and analysis.
  • Experience driving new technologies in the domain of RF, electromagnetics and wireless communication.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FCC, IC, CE, etc.) and associated certification process. Familiarity with cellular industry standards and specs (e.g. 3GPP, CTIA, PTCRB etc.).
  • Familiarity with schematic creation and PCB design/review tools.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

As a Senior Antenna Design Engineer, you will join the wireless hardware team shaping the future of Pixel wearables. In this role, you are expected to lead antenna design, optimization, and validation for our next-generation wearable products. By partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you will lead the antenna development for Pixel Wearable products aiming to deliver the best of Google’s technology to users worldwide.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Antenna design, optimization, and validation for Pixel wearable products, directly responsible for the readiness and quality for high-volume mass production.
  • Be responsible for antenna concept development in collaboration with key cross-functional partners and be accountable for providing a matured antenna solution that fully meets product goals. Be responsible for guiding and aligning cross-functional stakeholders throughout the entire product development life cycle.
  • Manage contracted manufacturers and vendors to co-develop antenna solutions from prototype to production. Be responsible for defining factory antenna test limits, ensure antenna factory to lab correlation, and held accountable for antenna related production yield issues.
  • Develop comprehensive Over-The-Air (OTA) test plans and execute testing to evaluate and troubleshoot antenna radiated performance.
  • Support antenna-related compliance/certification process, responsible for antenna related compliance/certification troubleshooting and provide comprehensive solutions in timely manner.
