Position Summary
The Department of Human-Centered Computing, Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering at IU Indianapolis, invites applicants for a full-time Lecturer appointment in the area of Multichannel Web Design and Development. Exceptional instructors are being sought to join our fast-growing department.

The responsibilities of the position include teaching assigned courses in the Media Arts and Science and Informatics programs, developing courses for the traditional classroom setting, computer labs and for online education; help setting program and specialization goals, developing and continually updating the curriculum and training activities; contributing to the recruitment and marketing of the program; interviewing, evaluating and advising students; engaging in scholarly activity that enhances teaching and learning; serving as a member of the Luddy School in Indianapolis, departmental and programs committees; maintaining current knowledge and skillset in the Web Design and Development profession through active participation in professional organizations, collaboration, practice and research; and serving on professional committees. The appointment will begin August 1, 2026, at the IU Indianapolis campus.

This position entails a standard teaching load of four courses per semester, with a distribution of effort consisting of 80% teaching and 20% service responsibilities. Also, this is an in-person faculty appointment requiring full-time on-campus presence. Salary is competitive based on experience and qualifications.

Basic Qualifications
Requirements for this appointment include a master’s degree, preferably in a field related to media design, informatics, computer science, or web application development. The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of industry experience in web design and development, as well as comprehensive and extensive knowledge and experience in using the latest technologies in full-stack web development, including React. Demonstrated ability to teach and learn new programming languages, frameworks, and web development technologies
