| Position Summary | The Postdoctoral Researcher will support several externally funded projects aimed at improving hearing healthcare and communication outcomes for older adults underserved by traditional hearing healthcare, including those living with dementia and those in long-term care. The postdoc will be mentored by Dr. Dana Urbanski (gerontology, audiology, and public health), with opportunities to collaborate across Indiana University’s aging research network. Projects are clinically motivated and span mixed methods intervention development, usability testing, implementation research, and secondary data analysis. Opportunities exist to develop and lead new projects in this topic area and to contribute to grant development. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to study design, mixed methods data analysis, the preparation and submission of journal articles, and the mentoring of students working on the projects. This position is based at Indiana University Bloomington in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, with opportunities for collaboration with the IU Bloomington School of Public Health, IU’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, the Indiana University Center for Aging Research, and the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. | Basic Qualifications | Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. in public health, gerontology, communication sciences and disorders, speech and hearing sciences, or a related field at the time of appointment. Other key qualifications include strong written and communication skills, publications and previous conference presentations, and experience working with collaborative research teams. |
