| Position Summary | The Center for Postsecondary Research (CPR) in the Indiana University School of Education seeks a post-doctoral analyst to join the research team for the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Researchers within CPR conduct sponsored research and work with institutional researchers, assessment professionals, academic leaders, and college and university presidents to aid institutional improvement efforts. Duties: The analyst will contribute directly to the development and advancement of NSSE and associated projects. This will include working collaboratively with NSSE’s Data and Reporting team to update NSSE by shaping survey content and structure, creating scales and indexes, recommending items for deletion, and developing new content areas or optional modules. The analyst will also collaborate with staff to design and implement innovative online reporting tools for institutional and intermediary users. Depending on the candidate’s expertise, this work may include database design, leveraging visual analytics platforms, developing code, and applying principles of effective data visualization to meet institutional reporting needs. The analyst will collaborate with NSSE staff to catalog existing resources such as readings, webinars, and recordings aligned with the restructured survey, identify gaps and outdated materials, and update resources to create a comprehensive reference database for users. The position also involves contributing applied and scholarly works using NSSE data, including blog posts, conference presentations, short articles, and social media content, as well as scholarly writing that demonstrates the continued value and relevance of NSSE data. Finally, the analyst may research and prepare grant proposals to support technical infrastructure improvements and enhance institutional data-use capacity. Interested candidates can submit a cover letter, CV/resume, and one sample of work or writing related to any of the duties listed above here: https://indiana.peopleadmin.com/postings/32133. Priority consideration will be given to candidates who submit materials before March 1. Successful candidates will bring experience with survey methodology, psychometrics, and/or quantitative research design; along with proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
