Job Description
Indiana University (IU), the IU Foundation (IUF), and the IU Alumni Association (IUAA) are looking for a curious, relationship‑driven problem solver to step into a high‑impact, highly collaborative role: Advancement Project Manager & Systems Analyst.

In this role, you’ll help bring clarity to ambiguous challenges and move important initiatives forward across advancement. This role will drive the Business Transformation Office initiatives partnering with leaders to understand goals, constraints and pain points of current business processes.
Outcomes will include process mapping, facilitating alignment to move ideas into execution, progress tracking, and more in this dynamic environment.
You’ll flex between analysis, coordination, facilitation, and execution, depending on what the work requires. It’s a role for someone who loves solving undefined problems and helping teams organize complexity into actionable steps.
The Advancement Project Manager & Systems Analyst supports the advancement goals and objectives of Indiana University (IU), the Indiana Alumni Association (IUAA), and the Indiana University Foundation (IUF). This role focuses on understanding problems that are not fully defined, clarifying priorities, mapping processes, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities that may involve projects and/or automation. Success in this role depends on strong relationships, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to move work forward in ambiguous and evolving environments.
Understand and improve systems and processes by:
- Partnering with leaders and stakeholders to understand goals, challenges, and constraints.
- Asking questions, synthesizing input, and helping clarify priorities and desired outcomes.
- Analyzing current processes and workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Mapping and documenting processes to support continuous improvement, standardization, and/or automation.
- Validating that proposed solutions align with business needs and are practical to implement.
- Supporting communication, change readiness, and adoption as processes and tools evolve.
Advance work and initiatives by:
- Organizing loosely defined efforts into clear next steps, decisions, and actions.
- Adapting structure and approach based on the size, complexity, and maturity of the work.
- Facilitating discussions, aligning stakeholders, and helping teams move from ideas to execution.
- Tracking progress and surfacing risks, dependencies, and decisions needed to keep work moving.
- Providing timely, practical updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Flexing between analysis, coordination, facilitation, and execution support as needed.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Three years of professional work experience required. Five years of professional experience preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds (e.g., operations, HR, administration, systems, or analyst roles), especially those known as reliable problem solvers or “go-to” contributors.
Additional Information
We encourage individuals with transferrable skills (EG: Human Resources and Marketing) to apply!! The compensation range for this position is $65,000- $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This position is hybrid, includes a minimum of three days of on-site work per week (to include Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). Hybrid employees have a bank of 60 days to be used for remote work on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year as permitted. We anticipate a robust candidate pool and will leave the position open till April 2nd to accept applications.
