Stark Neurosciences Research Institute's mission is to bring together the scientific community in a dynamic, collaborative organization that advances discovery of neuroscience-related disease mechanisms and therapeutic strategies, as well as disseminates and applies this knowledge to prevent, treat, and cure disease. Stark Neurosciences Research Institute's research is not only reflected across departments at Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine, but at several universities and institutions.

  • Performs routine, non-specialized tasks that keep workflows running efficiently, including preparing buffers and reagents, labeling and organizing tubes and samples, tracking inventory, restocking supplies, washing glassware, and maintaining general lab cleanliness and organization.
  • Assists with basic preparatory steps, such as aliquoting solutions and/or setting up materials in advance, allowing trained staff to focus on complex procedures such as western blotting, primary cell culture, and immunohistochemistry.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of related research experience

  • Proficient communication skills

15¿20 hours per week (4¿5 hours per day), between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
