We have an opportunity for a GL Accounting Apprentice to join our Finance – International Accounting team in Bangalore, reporting to the Supervisor / Senior Manager – International Accounting. In this early-career role, you will learn how global entities are accounted for, support month‑end close activities, and help maintain strong financial controls in a fast‑paced, multinational environment.
Working closely with GL accountants, Payroll, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Tax, HR, FP&A, and external advisors, you will build a strong foundation in general ledger processes, reconciliations, and compliance while getting exposure to multiple countries and regulatory environments.

In this pivotal role, you will learn how global entities are accounted for, support month‑end close activities, and help maintain strong financial controls in a fast‑paced, multinational environment. Collaborating closely with L accountants, Payroll, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Tax, HR, FP&A, and external advisors, you will you will build a strong foundation in general ledger processes, reconciliations, and compliance while getting exposure to multiple countries and regulatory environments.
Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do
- Support posting and review of general ledger entries to ensure accuracy and proper coding under guidance from senior team members
- Assist with month‑end and quarter‑end close activities, including preparation of basic journal entries (prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, allocations, reclasses, tax-related entries) following standard checklists and timelines
- Prepare and update supporting schedules and account reconciliations (bank, intercompany, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, etc.) and investigate reconciling items with supervision
- Help maintain roll‑forward schedules for key balance sheet accounts and support flux/variance analysis by compiling data and initial commentary for review
- Assist in intercompany accounting and reconciliations, ensuring charges are recorded correctly and differences are tracked and resolved on time
- Support internal control and SOX requirements by preparing evidence, maintaining documentation, and participating in control testing and walkthroughs as requested
- Contribute to statutory and tax audit support by organizing backup, preparing schedules, and responding to basic audit queries in coordination with GL accountants and Tax
- Coordinate with Payroll, AP, Treasury, HR, Tax, and FP&A to collect information, validate entries, and ensure timely resolution of open items
- Help with direct and indirect tax compliance support, including compiling data for returns, reconciliations, and statutory reporting (as guided by senior team members)
- Participate in process documentation and improvements, updating SOPs, checklists, and trackers, and suggesting simple enhancements to make close activities more efficient
Be Prepared — What You Bring
- 0–1 year of experience in internships or article‑ship experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; CA/CMA/CS Inter or similar qualifications (completed or pursuing) are a strong plus
- Good understanding of accounting fundamentals (journal entries, trial balance, ledgers, reconciliations, basics of financial statements)
- Exposure to US GAAP and/or IFRS concepts through coursework or training is an advantage
- Comfortable working with Excel and eager to learn enterprise ERPs (Oracle Fusion / SAP or similar)
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and willingness to work with large data sets in a structured way
- Ability to follow standard processes and controls, document work clearly, and maintain proper audit trails
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work as part of a global team, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks with supervision
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders and external auditors
- Curiosity to learn global accounting, tax, and compliance and grow into independent GL responsibilities over time
Be Successful — Your Path

Six Months: Independently handle a defined set of standard reconciliations and schedules for selected entities. Prepare routine journal entries and close deliverables with minimal rework. Respond to basic internal and external queries on assigned areas with guidance where needed
One Year: Own end‑to‑end close activities for selected accounts/entities under oversight from GL leads. Support statutory and tax audits for assigned entities, including PBC lists and query resolution. Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the GL and compliance space
