The Life Sciences practice is at a pivotal stage of its growth journey, aiming to enhance its existing competencies and expand into complementary business areas. It is one of the fastest-growing units within the consulting organization, assisting some of the largest global pharmaceutical companies and most recognizable biotech firms. Over the past few years, it has pioneered advancements in digital health, cloud transformation and AI-driven automation.

As Infosys Consulting looks to build the life sciences practice and IT M&A capabilities in EMEA, this role will be crucial in attracting and developing top consulting talent from the industry to expand our high-performing team. You'll be at the forefront of industry consolidation, helping leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies navigate complex transactions that drive innovation and improve patient outcomes. As a trusted advisor, you'll provide strategic guidance on deal strategy, due diligence, integration, and value creation, working alongside industry experts and leveraging cutting-edge technology.

About your role

We are seeking a Life Sciences IT M&A Consultant to support technology due diligence, integration planning, and execution for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures in the life sciences industry. This role will work with cross-functional teams to evaluate IT capabilities, define integration strategies, and ensure successful technology transitions during corporate transactions.

Pre-Deal (Due Diligence):

  • Assess IT landscape of target organizations, including infrastructure, applications, security, and data.
  • Identify risks, costs, and synergies related to IT environments in potential deals.
  • Provide IT input into overall deal thesis, valuation models, and risk assessments.
  • Review IT contracts, licensing, and vendor dependencies.

Post-Deal (Integration / Separation):

  • Define IT integration or separation strategies aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage Day 1 readiness and long-term IT transformation roadmaps.
  • Lead or support TSA (Transition Service Agreement) design and execution.
  • Oversee integration/separation of IT systems including ERP, CRM, R&D platforms (e.g., LIMS, clinical trial systems).

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with business, legal, compliance, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless IT integration.
  • Liaise with security and data privacy teams to address HIPAA, GDPR, and other compliance issues.
  • Support change management and communication strategies.

Experience:

  • 5–10+ years of experience in Consulting and M&A in the life sciences industry.
  • Experience in Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm is a must.
  • Demonstrated experience with at least 2–3 M&A transactions (buy-side or sell-side).
  • Strong understanding of IT landscapes in pharma, biotech, or medtech, including R&D, manufacturing, commercial, and regulatory systems.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure (cloud/on-prem), application portfolios, and data integration.
  • Experience with ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), CRM (e.g., Salesforce), and industry-specific platforms (e.g., Veeva, LIMS).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and data privacy in regulated environments.
  • Strong proficiency in M&A project management tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
  • General skill set including stakeholder management, problem-solving, communication and presentation
  • Happy to have Project-related mobility/willingness to travel
