Infosys is seeking Java SRE support engineer who will be responsible for ensuring stability, reliability, and automation of production environments for critical applications within a leading Global Financial Services firm. This role blends traditional production support responsibilities with modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including automation, observability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be located within commuting distance of New York, NY or willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel within the US.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • Candidates authorized to work for any employer in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship are welcome to apply. Infosys is unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this role at this time
  • At least 2 years of Information Technology experience.
  • At least 1 years of hands‑on production support experience in a large‑scale, mission‑critical environment.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (Oracle, Sybase, DB2, MySQL, etc.).
  • Solid Unix/Linux hands‑on experience, including shell scripting for automation.
  • Working knowledge of GitLab (pipelines, CI/CD concepts, code repository management).
  • Experience in debugging incidents, analyzing logs, and managing production stability.
  • Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Coding exposure in Java or Python (for automation, troubleshooting, or minor enhancements).
  • Experience in any scripting language (Shell, Python, Perl, JavaScript).
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, MemSQL) is a plus.
  • Financial services industry experience.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/SRE tools: monitoring, alerting, observability platforms (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, etc.).
The job may entail extensive travel. The job may also entail sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Candidates should be able to effectively communicate by telephone, email, and face to face.
