Senior Consultant – Digital Manufacturing / Operations IT
Infosys Consulting is seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant – Digital Manufacturing to support and deliver technology-enabled transformation initiatives for pharmaceutical and manufacturing clients. The role focuses on executing end‑to‑end IT and digital operations engagements spanning shopfloor performance, production planning, workforce optimization, and operational analytics.
The successful candidate will partner closely with client operations, manufacturing excellence, and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions that drive performance improvement, operational visibility, and adoption of digital manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Governance
- Partner with operations, production planning, and IT stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and milestone tracking for manufacturing IT initiatives.
- Establish project governance, including risk and issue tracking, change control, and escalation mechanisms.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise IT standards, validation requirements, and operational priorities.
- Manage end‑to‑end delivery of manufacturing‑focused IT projects from initiation through go‑live and stabilization.
- Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders including manufacturing operations, production planning, manufacturing excellence, and IT teams.
- Facilitate workshops and requirement‑gathering sessions to translate operational needs into functional and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and high‑quality delivery.
- Lead implementation initiatives related to shopfloor performance, production planning & scheduling, and workforce/shift optimization.
- Support deployment of real‑time KPI tracking, operational dashboards, and performance reporting solutions across sites.
- Ensure integration of planning and performance solutions with ERP and manufacturing execution systems.
- Validate system functionality to support operational visibility, decision‑making, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate testing activities including functional testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Support cutover planning, deployment readiness, and go‑live coordination with business and IT teams.
- Ensure smooth handover to operations and IT support teams post go‑live.
- Track and support resolution of post‑deployment issues to ensure system stabilization and user adoption.
- Support change management activities including user communications, training coordination, and adoption tracking.
- Work with business stakeholders to ensure alignment between technology changes and shopfloor processes.
- Promote usage of delivered solutions to support Lean and Operational Excellence practices (e.g., tier meetings, standard work).
- Provide regular project status updates, risk reporting, and milestone tracking to stakeholders.
- Track delivery against timelines, scope, and operational objectives.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and optimization based on user feedback and performance data.
- 5+ years of experience delivering IT projects within manufacturing or pharmaceutical operations
- Proven experience managing end‑to‑end projects related to:
- Shopfloor performance management
- Production planning & scheduling
- Workforce / shift optimization
- Experience delivering real‑time operational KPI dashboards and performance reporting solutions.
- Familiarity with integrated planning solutions connected to ERP and manufacturing systems.
- Experience coordinating cross‑functional stakeholders across operations, production planning, manufacturing excellence, and IT.
- Exposure to Lean / Operational Excellence practices within manufacturing environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments (pharma, medical devices).
- Hands‑on experience with manufacturing systems (MES, APS, shopfloor analytics).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with onsite/offshore or distributed delivery teams.
- Consulting or system‑integration delivery experience is a plus.
