Roles & Responsibilities
- Own the end to end S/4HANA data migration program, including strategy, planning, execution, quality, resources, and stakeholder communication.
- Manage multiple Data Migration Leads across modules, ensuring consistency and standardization in migration activities.
- Establish and enforce a unified data migration governance framework, including methodology, templates, tools, validations, sign offs, and quality gates.
- Ensure consistent mapping, transformation, cleansing, and reconciliation processes across all data streams.
- Own and maintain the Data Migration Master Plan covering workstreams, milestones, cutover cycles, load waves, and dependencies.
- Review and approve migration strategies from Data Leads, ensuring alignment with program needs and technical constraints.
- Monitor migration progress across all streams and escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies when required.
- Coordinate with business, functional, technical, PMO, and SI teams to ensure alignment on data scope, readiness, and timelines.
- Facilitate governance committees, design authority reviews, and issue resolution forums for all data topics.
- Act as the primary escalation point for data related issues across all tracks.
- Lead, mentor, and manage Data Leads, analysts, and technical migration teams with clear expectations and deliverables.
- Allocate resources effectively across modules based on priority, complexity, and workload.
- Drive capability development and ensure teams are trained on tools, standards, and processes.
- Define and track data quality KPIs across all streams to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness of migrated data.
- Oversee reconciliation frameworks, validation rules, audit trails, and post load verification activities.
- Identify data risks early and drive mitigation actions across all workstreams.
- Lead all cutover activities, including mock loads, defect cycles, rehearsals, and final production migration.
- Ensure aligned cutover execution, smoke tests, data sign offs, and business readiness across all data teams.
- Provide leadership during Hypercare for rapid issue resolution and stabilization of data integrity.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency gains in migration execution.
- Stay updated on S/4HANA migration trends, tools, and industry best practices to continuously enhance migration effectiveness.
Expectations
- Experience leading large scale, multi stream SAP S/4HANA data migration programs.
- Proven ability to manage multiple Data Migration Leads and cross functional data teams.
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA data models, migration objects, and cross module dependencies.
- Ability to review and guide mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation approaches.
- Familiarity with SAP migration tools (BODS, MDG, LTMC/LSMW, BAPI/IDocs) for oversight and governance.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with senior stakeholders, program leadership, and technical teams.
- Ability to handle escalations and drive alignment across business and IT teams.
- Experience defining and tracking data quality KPIs, sign off criteria, and audit ready validation processes.
- Ability to anticipate data risks early and drive mitigation across multiple streams.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and managing Data Leads and data analysts.
- Proven ability to plan resources, balance workload, and ensure delivery against timelines.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, automation, and adoption of best practices in data migration.
- Awareness of SAP S/4HANA migration trends, tools, and industry standards.
