Job Details:

Job Description:

Are you passionate about PC Gaming, AI throughput, or Overclocking to get the most extreme performance out of a computer?

Are you passionate about finding the best trade-off of power efficiency versus frame rates, or finding new ways to get the longest battery life from a mobile device?

Are you excited to work in a lab with expansive capabilities to do complex Power and Performance analysis?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Graphics Hardware PnP team might be the right fit for you! In this team, we work with product, design, software, and engineering teams across Intel to optimize graphics IP in products from mobile, desktop, edge, and server. As part of the team, you would test and tune products from early Silicon all the way through product release, optimizing the power and performance on games, AI, compute, media, and creator workloads using industry standard content, custom tests, and a wide variety of observation tools for measuring internal architecture throughput, software-visible performance counters, and external power and IO signals. This is fun and challenging work, developing a holistic understanding of graphics and systems concepts while delving deep into power/performance tuning, architecture, tools, and software stack to optimize Intel graphics in a competitive market!

The responsibilities for this job are listed below but not limited to:

  • Defines, develops, and performs validation for GPUs, focusing on power and performance of GPUs, media, display and system level interactions.
  • Applies various hardware and software level tools and techniques to ensure validation coverage and that performance, power, and area goals are met.
  • Reviews proposed design changes to assess impact on validation plans, tasks, and timelines.
  • Develops GPU validation methodologies, executes validation plans, and collaborates with other engineers for design optimization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
  • Performs silicon debug to identify root causes and resolves all functional and triage failures for GPU issues.
  • Tests interactions between various GPU features using validation infrastructure.
  • Develops post-silicon validation infrastructure (e.g., performance monitors, behavioral checkers, state space coverage) and test environment used in validation testing.
  • Publishes GPU validation reports summarizing all validation activities performed, reviews results, and communicates to relevant teams. Works with architecture, design, verification, board, platform, and manufacturing teams to maintain and improve debug, validation test strategy, methodologies, and processes for graphics interfaces and to meet desired product specifications.
