Job Description:

As a Signal Integrity Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for developing Edge reference platforms utilizing Intel Client architecture, to enable customers and proof-of-concept models for emerging technologies.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Delivering signal integrity solutions for complex high-speed platforms and packages.
  • Defining signal integrity rules, reviewing implementations, documenting characterization and measurement reports, and optimizing design margins.
  • Collaborating with System Engineering and Layout teams to develop reference designs, driving the implementation of guidelines and solutions into internal and external hardware designs, and supporting external customers through board design reviews, consultation and simulation support.
  • Applying signal integrity design knowledge and tradeoffs to perform interconnect simulations, guiding package and platform physical implementation, and designing and characterizing test structures to correlate simulations and measurements using advanced high-speed equipment.
  • Developing electrical specifications and new industry standard interconnect specifications to guide consortiums for next-generation interfaces.
  • Documenting and providing implementation guidelines to end customers as part of the platform design guide.
  • Generating and validating models for use in SI/PI simulations, including package, via, trace, cable, and connector models.
  • Responsible for design, bring-up, testing, and design documentation.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications, are required to be initially considered for this position:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Advanced English level.
  • 3+ years of experience working in signal integrity in high-speed design, simulation method, model generation.
  • 3+ years of experience working with:
    • Signal integrity simulation tools, such as Hspice, Hyperlynx, Sigrity, Agilent ADS, etc.
    • Customer interaction to resolve issues.

Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico (the position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

  • Expertise in simulation methodologies and the use of advanced simulation tools for complex modeling and jitter analysis.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, HDMI, eDP, etc.
  • Understanding of board stack-up, trace geometries, and their effects on signal integrity.
  • Practical experience with lab equipment, including TDR, VNA, digital scopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
  • Working knowledge of board-level system architecture, basic silicon design, I/O structures, and topologies.
  • Familiarity with PCB layout processes and methodologies.
