Join the Intuit’s PDX group as a Sr.Staff Software Engineer developing the Service Mesh for the Intuit Kubernetes Service.
Intuit’s Service Mesh is a cutting-edge technology built on the open source Istio project which coupled with Intuit’s Kubernetes Service has revolutionized service to service communication for hundreds of services in Intuit’s ecosystem.
The Service Mesh team is looking to reinvent service to service communication at scale and innovate and contribute back into open source. We are looking for team members that love new challenges, cracking tough problems, and working cross-functionally. Responsibilities
- Developing, maintaining, and innovating large scale, developer-facing platforms
- Continuously raising the operational excellence bar of Service Mesh and related platforms.
- Familiar with security best practices
- Familiar with the development challenges inherent with adoption of API Gateway or ServiceMesh platforms in large scale organizations
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals
- Experience with network proxies like nginx/envoy/rust
- Good understanding of L4/L7 load-balancers
- Experience working with Kubernetes/Docker
- Experience building platforms for microservices ecosystems
- Experience with networking in Kubernetes
- Experience working with Istio or any Service Mesh
- Experience working with Envoy and envoy WASM filters
- Experience maintaining/contributing to open source projects
- Always Be Learning: Experience with open source technologies. You’re prototyping or researching the up and coming technology and solutions
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is:
Southern California $201,000 - 272,000This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits).Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing pay equity for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on software development experience
- Experience developing scalable consumer-facing SaaS software using modern technologies including Istio, Go, Kubernetes, RESTful web
- Experience with leveraging, contributing to and leading open source community projects
- Strategic and analytical thinker who is hypothesis-driven and uses data, judgment, and pattern recognition for learning and moving quickly
- Excellent communication and presentation skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience
