One of the most severe challenges a small business faces is managing their cash flow: balancing inflows and outflows, late customer payments, funding growth, and making payroll, all while hoping there is enough left over for profit or a rainy day.

QuickBooks is on a mission to change the game by providing access to services that improve business’s prospects and increase their survival rate. We are seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager to lead the strategic planning and delivery of integrated Mid-Market experiences for our payments and invoicing products. This role requires a leader with a deep understanding of the Mid Market industry segment, exceptional execution and delivery excellence, strong stakeholder and executive communication and management skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives that enhance our product offerings.


Responsibilities

  • Define and articulate a compelling Mid Market product vision and strategy for our payments and invoicing ecosystem, aligning with overall business objectives and market opportunities. Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that addresses customer needs and positions the company as a leader in the MM industry

  • Own the key success metrics of increasing Mid Market acquisition and growing Mid Market TPV (total payments volume), as well as maniacally focus on customer engagement and satisfaction.

  • Influence cross-functional teams through clarity of strategy, crisp execution, and measurable outcomes.

  • Drive rigorous prioritization and investment decisions necessary to deliver your team’s vision and roadmaps

  • Utilize data analytics and customer feedback to identify pain points, opportunities, and areas for improvement in the Mid Market Accounts Receivable experience.

  • Nail the execution. Build the best possible solution that balances quality and velocity, pressure test designs, think through edge cases, look for ways to validate the experience is customer backed, fights obstacles in the way of velocity, and manage up effectively and concisely.

  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with engineering, experience design, analytics, marketing, sales, and customer experience teams to maximize outside the box thinking, and velocity.

  • Market and Customer Insight: Conduct thorough market research and gather customer feedback to identify pain points, opportunities, and emerging trends. Utilize these insights to inform product decisions and prioritize features that deliver exceptional value to our users.

  • Product Development and Execution: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept through launch and iteration. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate product vision, gather requirements, and ensure alignment. Act as the primary Mid Market point of contact for all matters related to the payments and invoicing ecosystem.

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success. Analyze product performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize user experience and business outcomes.


Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

  • Experience: A minimum of 12 years of product management experience; with a proven track record of success in developing and launching B2B/B2C SaaS products, particularly focused on end-to-end workflow and funnel optimization. Previous invoicing and payments experience a plus.

  • Impact Delivery: Proven track record of leading complex product initiatives that result in significant business growth.

  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.

  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.

  • Customer Obsession: Deep understanding of Mid Market businesses and how they operate. The ability to wear the customer’s hat at all times and be a customer advocate first.

  • Executive Presence and Influence: The ability to work closely with Senior and C-level executives to develop product strategy and gain alignment.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
