Job Overview

As a Senior Staff Data Scientist in Local Market Strategy & Intelligence, you will lead efforts to define, measure, and communicate the performance of our business through a market and customer lens. You’ll enable leaders across Product, Marketing, Expert Services, Retail, and Operations to make data-informed strategic and operational decisions with confidence.

You’ll be responsible for creating intuitive visualizations, clear performance narratives, and scalable analytical frameworks that bring business intelligence to life for executives and operational teams alike.


Responsibilities

  1. Business Insight & Strategy: Translate complex data into strategic business insights. Identify emerging opportunities, trends, and performance dynamics across markets and customer segments.
  1. Executive-Facing Visualization & Storytelling: Develop compelling visualizations, dashboards, and presentations that enable data-driven decision-making at the leadership level. Bring simplicity and clarity to complex analytical narratives.
  1. Performance Frameworks: Build measurement frameworks that help evaluate marketing, product, and operational outcomes. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in metrics, definitions, and performance tracking.
  1. Cross-Functional Influence: Serve as a trusted data science partner to senior leaders across Marketing, Product, and Operations. Facilitate alignment through data, ensuring shared understanding of business drivers.
  1. Data-Driven Operating Rhythm: Support business reviews and planning cycles by developing analytical views and insights that reveal key drivers of growth and performance.
  1. Thought Leadership & Enablement: Champion best practices in analytics, visualization, and decision science. Mentor others and contribute to a culture of data-informed leadership.

Qualifications

  1. 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or business intelligence roles, ideally within consumer tech or SaaS environments.
  1. Proven track record influencing executive decision-making and driving business outcomes through data.
  1. Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
  1. Strong business acumen across marketing, product, and operational strategy.
  1. Advanced SQL proficiency; experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  1. Exceptional storytelling and communication skills — able to craft clear, compelling business narratives from complex data.
  1. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver impact in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  1. S. or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
