Job Overview

The Intuit T4I (Tech for Intuit) team is responsible for building Intuit’s core capabilities surrounding enterprise Workforce, People and Places technologies. Our broader set of stakeholders include Intuit’s HR, Facilities, IT, segment business unit leaders and all Intuit workers and employees including Intuit’s expert workforce. The T4I tech team works closely with all the above stakeholders to ensure we are delivering the data capabilities needed to support Intuit’s scale, growth and provide best in class employee and expert experience fueling productivity for Intuit’s people.

As a Staff Data Engineer within the team, you will partner with PMs to execute on strategic transformative data initiatives. Tasks would include creating data products for Analytics and AI use cases driving to a future data target state of People, Places and Workforce Productivity and Collaboration technologies. The goal of this team is to push the envelope into the strategic and direct application of data to drive real business outcomes and insights such as building People data universe, measuring AI adoption, productivity impact of AI fueled tools. Responsibilities

  • Rapidly Execute Data Initiatives: Partner with Product Managers and business to translate business problems into data solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end hands on execution of data-driven projects, from initial concept to final delivery using Intuit big data platform capabilities.

  • Deep Dive and Create Data Products: Proactively build connected data products and pipelines across data domains with data quality, accuracy, and efficiency.

  • Innovate and Build POCs: Develop and rapidly iterate on new data applications, creating proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new data pipelines, API integrations, data universes and advanced data modeling including Data ontologies and Knowledge graphs for semantic data layer.

  • Drive Strategic Impact: Focus on the direct and strategic application of data to deliver measurable business outcomes, even if it means working with imperfect data to capture significant value.

  • Collaborate and Mentor: Work within a fast-paced, startup-like environment, wearing multiple hats and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. You will also have opportunities to mentor others and contribute to the growth of the team


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience working in complex data domains leading data strategy, the application of data to solve business and customer problems, and data products for enterprise functions such as HR and Workforce technology.

  • Strong understanding of data engineering and dimensional design fundamentals, front-end analysis / data visualization, and learning new technologies quickly. Good understanding of data federation techniques and aggregation of data at scale from multiple source systems.

  • Highly advanced SQL skills, Python skills, Spark proficiency and familiarity with API integration and management. Designing and developing ETL pipelines across multiple platforms and tools including Spark, Hadoop and AWS Data Services.

  • Designing and developing data model schema definitions/ ontologies and supporting data warehouse/mart/ semantic data layer to enable integration of disparate data sources from within Intuit and outside, aggregate it and make it available for analysis and AI.

  • Proficient in data and analytics tools and patterns with an understanding of modern data stack trends
