Join the Intuit’s PDX group as a Software Engineer I developing the Service Mesh for the Intuit Kubernetes Service.

Intuit’s Service Mesh is a cutting-edge technology built on the open source Istio project which coupled with Intuit’s Kubernetes Service has revolutionized service to service communication for hundreds of services in Intuit’s ecosystem.

The Service Mesh team is looking to reinvent service to service communication at scale and innovate and contribute back into open source. Responsibilities

• Roughly 85-95% hands-on coding

• Contribute to early quality activities, including peer reviews of estimates, designs and

code

• Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release

patches

• Partner effectively with all team members to deliver against commitments

• Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams: product management, QA/QE,

various product lines, or business units to drive forward results

• Commitment to team success and positive team dynamics

• Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers

·Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, and/or Extreme Programming

methodologies

• Result oriented mindset with an affinity to produce high quality code

• Have a customer focused mindset

Qualifications

• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience

• Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals and their practical application

• An understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

• Experience with any of the following Object-Oriented Languages (OOD):

Go/Java/C++

• Strong working knowledge of API development standards like REST/GraphQL

protocol, pagination, throttling, caching and routing mechanisms.

• Experience working with Cloud platforms like AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, or any other

container platforms.

• Experience with Istio is an added advantage.

• Experience working with mature codebases

• An understanding of unit testing & Test-Driven Development (TDD)
