Staff Product Manager, Messaging - WhatsApp (Mailchimp)
Company Overview
Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.
Job Overview
We are seeking a customer-obsessed, strategic, and execution-driven Staff Product Manager (T4) to lead the 0→1 launch of WhatsApp as a new messaging channel within Mailchimp. This role sits within the Messaging product portfolio, which owns the end-to-end (E2E) product and go-to-market (GTM) strategy for channels such as SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, and social messaging platforms.
Messaging is one of Mailchimp’s fastest-growing product areas, with SMS experiencing 300% CAGR and strong momentum across customer segments. WhatsApp is our next major growth lever—particularly for international markets—and is a highly visible, strategic priority across the company.
As the E2E owner for WhatsApp, you will act as the “CEO” of this product line, defining the strategy, roadmap, pricing, and execution while partnering deeply with Engineering, Design, Data, Marketing, Sales, Legal, and external partners. You will own a paid SKU, be accountable for its performance, and continuously refine the plan based on customer insights and market signals.
If you thrive in ambiguous 0→1 environments, care deeply about cohesive end-to-end experiences, and are excited by high ownership and executive visibility, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
WhatsApp Product Strategy & 0→1 Execution
Define the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap (1–3 years) for WhatsApp within Mailchimp, with a strong point of view on customer value, differentiation, and monetization.
Define how AI‑driven capabilities (e.g., generative content, intelligent recommendations, predictive insights) enhance WhatsApp’s value proposition, improve performance, and reduce effort for customers.
Lead the end-to-end launch of WhatsApp—from onboarding and compliance flows, to audience building, to campaign creation, automation, and measurement.
Identify and validate product–market fit across customer segments, verticals, and global regions, adapting the strategy as learnings emerge.
Own the WhatsApp SKU, including pricing strategy, packaging, free trials, promotions, and performance metrics.
Growth, GTM & Revenue Ownership
Lead growth experiments to optimize the funnel, increase adoption, and maximize revenue and retention.
Partner with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Support to build enablement, processes, and collateral—especially to support larger mid-market deals.
Define and execute GTM strategies in collaboration with regional and international teams.
End-to-End Experience Ownership
Ensure a cohesive, intuitive E2E journey for customers—from registering a WhatsApp program to launching high-performing campaigns and automations.
Partner with Design to deliver best-in-class campaign editing and composition experiences tailored to WhatsApp.
Balance simplicity for small businesses with scalability for more advanced use cases.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
Partner with Engineering, Design, Analytics, and QA to translate strategy into clear requirements, milestones, and high-quality execution.
Own executive communication for the WhatsApp product line, delivering recurring updates on strategy, roadmap delivery, and business performance to senior leadership.
Collaborate with capability product teams such as Automations, Reporting, CDP, Trust & Safety, and Partnerships to ensure WhatsApp capabilities are fully integrated and extensible.
Work closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure all WhatsApp features meet global regulatory and policy requirements.
Partner & Ecosystem Management
Manage strategic relationships and integrations with external partners such as Meta and Infobip.
Serve as the internal WhatsApp domain expert, educating product teams, sales partners, and leadership on market dynamics and customer behavior.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Launch WhatsApp as a core growth pillar for Mailchimp’s global messaging strategy.
Unlock new international revenue streams and accelerate customer adoption across markets.
Deliver a best-in-class, end-to-end WhatsApp experience that helps small businesses achieve real business outcomes.
Shape a highly visible product with executive-level attention and impact.
Build the foundation for Mailchimp’s future in omnichannel messaging.
This is a rare opportunity to own a strategic, high-growth product from the ground up—combining vision, execution, and business ownership at scale.
