Job Overview
The Data Governance for Intuit (DG4I) team is on a mission to transform how Intuit governs data as we scale cross-product experiences, analytics, and AI. As Intuit moves toward a unified system of intelligence, governance must shift from manual guidance to built-in, automated controls that protect customers while enabling innovation.
The Staff Technical Compliance Manager will support the DG4I program by partnering with Legal, Security, Product Development, and Platform teams to translate regulatory and policy requirements into enforceable technical controls. This role focuses on turning compliance into a strategic enabler, helping teams move faster with confidence.
About the Role
Intuit’s products must delight customers, comply with internal policies, and meet increasing regulatory expectations across privacy, tax, AI, and data usage. DG4I is building the foundational rules, platforms, and monitoring needed to make governance scalable and consistent across the enterprise.
If you are passionate about working at the intersection of compliance, data, and technology, and believe governance can be a competitive advantage rather than a bottleneck, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
Provide technical compliance advisory for new and evolving data use cases, including analytics, AI, and cross-product data sharing
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Platform, Privacy, Security, and Legal teams to ensure data usage complies with regulatory and policy requirements
Translate laws, regulations, and internal policies into clear, enforceable data governance rules
Lead large-scale audit and regulatory remediations by translating findings into durable, platform-level controls and overseeing end-to-end execution.
Support the design and implementation of automated compliance controls (e.g., access restrictions, tagging validation, retention enforcement)
Help define monitoring and evidence mechanisms to ensure controls are working as intended
Track governance initiatives and provide status updates to senior leadership & Data Governance Council on progress, risks, and dependencies
Create quarterly roadmaps, own milestone plans, manage risks/dependencies, run team check-in cadences and ensure progress on the Programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 6–10 years of professional experience in compliance, data governance, security, platform engineering, or a related field
Experience providing compliance or risk advisory support to technical or product teams
Familiarity with regulated data environments (e.g., privacy, financial data, tax data, AI governance) and how it impacts customer experiences
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply policy intent to real-world systems
Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and influence without authority
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
Passion for treating compliance as a strategic enabler for growth and customer trust
