Job Overview
Come join the Virtual Expert Platform (VEP) team as a Staff Software Engineer and help shape the AI-powered future of customer success at Intuit. VEP is at the heart of delivering intelligent, scalable, and personalized experiences that empower our Customer Success experts to seamlessly onboard customers, drive product adoption, and support them throughout their entire journey.
As a Staff Engineer on VEP, you will architect and build AI-driven solutions that unlock insights, automate workflows, and proactively identify customer needs. You will work across the full stack to develop intelligent systems that help experts anticipate challenges, recommend next best actions, accelerate time-to-value, and ultimately improve customer retention and growth. From designing data-driven platforms and scalable services to integrating machine learning models into real-time experiences, you will play a critical role in transforming how we serve and delight millions of customers.
In this role, you will partner closely with engineering, product, data science, and Customer Success teams to build extensible platforms and innovative tools that power onboarding, expansion, and long-term engagement. You will lead through technical excellence, influence architectural decisions, and mentor engineers while driving high-impact initiatives that fuel Intuit’s AI transformation.
We challenge ourselves to be the best — through our hunger for technical and personal growth while creating world-class software.
Responsibilities
Spend 60–75% of time hands-on designing, building, prompting, developing, coding, testing, and releasing high-quality software across the full technology stack.
Architect and deliver AI-powered solutions that enable Customer Success teams to onboard customers faster, increase product adoption, proactively identify customer needs, and drive retention and expansion.
Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable full-stack systems — from front-end experiences and APIs to data pipelines, AI integrations, and backend services.
Design, build, and maintain integrations with CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce), ensuring seamless data synchronization, workflow automation, customer insights enrichment, and scalable system interoperability.
Lead technical design discussions, create clear architectural artifacts, and drive alignment on engineering standards and best practices.
Operate with a strong builder mindset — proactively identifying opportunities, reducing complexity, accelerating delivery, and focusing on outcomes over outputs.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers, raising the bar on engineering excellence, code quality, operational maturity, and AI fluency.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Program, Data Science, Customer Success, and Business stakeholders to translate customer and business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Partner with multiple engineering teams and business units to design extensible platforms and reusable capabilities that amplify impact across the organization.
Champion a customer-obsessed approach — deeply understanding the customer journey, using data and insights to inform decisions, and continuously optimizing for customer value.
Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and team practices — embracing experimentation, rapid iteration, and learning from outcomes.
Own initiatives end-to-end with a strong sense of accountability, ensuring successful delivery, operational excellence, and measurable business impact.
Stay ahead of emerging technologies, particularly in AI and platform engineering, and actively evaluate and adopt innovations that create strategic advantage.
Ensure systems are observable, reliable, secure, and maintainable, incorporating testing, monitoring, and operational best practices from the outset.
Foster a culture of learning, technical curiosity, and high performance while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented team environment.
