Senior Staff Business Analyst – Finance Transformation Core Finance Systems
Company Overview
Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.
Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Staff Business Analyst to join our Core Finance Systems team supporting Record-to-Report (R2R) and Boundary Systems. In this high-impact role, you will translate the future-state vision for our close, consolidations, and reporting processes into scalable, end-to-end system solutions. You will partner closely with Global Process Owners (GPOs), FLP Tech, and the PMO to architect platform capabilities, re-engineer fragmented processes, and drive innovation that shifts our close and reporting operations from manual and reactive to automated, controlled, and insight-driven.
This role sits at the intersection of business intent and technical execution — owning the functional “how” for some of the most critical processes in Finance. You will be expected to operate with a platform mindset: simplifying complexity, eliminating variants, and ensuring that what is designed today scales for the multi-year transformation ahead.
Responsibilities
•Lead end-to-end functional solution design across the Record-to-Report and close operations including journal entry, intercompany, reconciliations, consolidations, close orchestration, and management/statutory reporting — translating GPO-defined business intent into scalable, controlled system capabilities.
•Define and evolve the multi-year platform vision for R2R identifying opportunities to modernize the close stack, embed automation and AI, and converge fragmented tools into a coherent, paved-path architecture aligned with enterprise standards.
•Lead structured re-engineering of close and reporting workflows by applying Standardize → Simplify → Automate principles. Eliminate process variants, reduce manual touchpoints, and design future-state flows that improve close cycle time, accuracy, and auditability.
•Develop new AI workflows across R2R and Close — including AI-assisted reconciliations, anomaly detection, intelligent document processing, automated flux and variance commentary, and agentic close orchestration — translating emerging AI capabilities into production-ready, controlled solutions that deliver measurable cycle-time, quality, and productivity gains.
•Drive cross-functional program execution from requirements through delivery, ensuring initiatives land on time, within budget, and aligned to stated business and technical objectives. Partner with the tech teams, GPOs and leadership to manage scope, sequencing, dependencies, risks, and integrated milestones (design complete, UAT readiness, cutover, hypercare) across Finance and Tech.
•Serve as a trusted advisor to senior Finance and Tech leaders. Influence decisions on prioritization, sequencing, and trade-offs across competing demands, and represent the functional perspective in program governance.
•Apply data analysis to evaluate current-state pain points, quantify opportunity, and guide design choices. Use insights to support executive decision-making on investment, sequencing, and value realization.
•Drive the change management, communication, and enablement work needed for successful adoption of new capabilities. Ensure controllership, policy, and audit considerations are embedded in every design.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
•8+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or finance systems roles, with demonstrated depth in Record-to-Report and Close operations.
•Hands-on experience with enterprise ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday, NetSuite) and related close/EPM ecosystem tools (consolidations, reconciliations, close management, reporting).
•Proven track record translating complex, ambiguous business needs into scalable functional designs and partnering with Tech to deliver them.
•Strong working knowledge of core accounting principles (e.g., US GAAP) and their application in a systems and controls environment, including SOX-relevant processes.
•Demonstrated experience leading process re-engineering and standardization across multiple stakeholders, with a bias for simplification over customization.
•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional senior leaders and align teams around a common solution direction.
•Experience operating within structured program delivery (PMO/TMO) and partnering effectively with GPOs, Tech, and change management teams.
Preferred Qualifications
•Master’s degree (MBA) or professional certification (CPA, PMP, Lean/Six Sigma).
•Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP and EPM Cloud modules (e.g., FCCS, ARCS, EDMCS, Narrative Reporting).
•Experience working in technology, SaaS, or fintech industries at scale.
•Exposure to AI/ML-enabled finance capabilities (e.g., automated reconciliations, anomaly detection, AI-assisted close commentary, intelligent document processing) and an understanding of how to operationalize them safely within a controlled environment.
•Familiarity with citizen development / low-code automation platforms and the governance models that support them.
•Formal training in project management, change management, and process improvement methodologies.
