Group Product Manager: Fintech Account Risk and Decisions

Category Product Management Location Mountain View, California Job ID 22992

Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

Intuit’s mission is to power prosperity, and a foundational element of that prosperity is Trust. We are seeking a Group Product Manager to lead the Account Risk and Decisions team. This role is at the heart of our Fintech Risk strategy, responsible for protecting millions of customers from fraud while ensuring their experience is seamless, intuitive, and frictionless.

In this role, you will lead a team of product managers to define the future of how we welcome and protect our customers, as well as protect our ecosystem from bad actors. Your scope covers the most critical touchpoints in the customer journey: from the moment they onboard to the ongoing protection of their accounts against fraud and compliance risks. You will balance a "security-first" mindset with a "customer-obsessed" approach, building scalable technical features that stop bad actors in their tracks without getting in the way of our legitimate customers. You will build data and decision foundational capabilities to support all Risk programs.

Responsibilities

Strategic Vision & Execution

  • Own loss and churn end-to-end: develop and execute a roadmap that prevents and mitigates bad-actor activity while creating delightful, low-friction experiences for good customers. You own the loss-versus-churn trade-off inside your funnels, not just one side of it.

  • Domain Leadership: drive the end-to-end Risk product strategy for onboarding controls and the account risk and compliance lifecycle, ensuring Intuit stays ahead of sophisticated fraud vectors. Leverage AI/ML, ecosystem data, and third party data to build automated, real-time decisioning flows and controls.

  • Platform ownership: operate the Data & Decisions platform as a shared capability, setting input goals that serve every funnel that depends on it across the broader risk org, not just your own squad. Advance the decisioning stack to increase our development velocity and decision quality.

  • Scalable Capability Innovation: work with engineering, policy, and AI teams to build reusable, scalable risk capabilities that can be deployed across various Intuit Fintech products.

  • Operational Health: monitor and report on fraud loss, false-positive/insult and churn indicators, compliance posture, and decision quality across the account lifecycle.

People Leadership & Talent Development

  • Team Growth: lead, coach, hire, and inspire a team of Risk Product Managers. You will be responsible for their career development, technical growth, and ability to deliver high-impact results.

  • Culture of Excellence: foster a collaborative environment that values ownership, clarity, data-driven decision-making, and deep customer empathy.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Influence Leadership: act as the primary voice for Account Risk and Decisions to senior leadership and key stakeholders. You must be able to articulate complex risk/reward trade-offs and gain buy-in for major strategic shifts.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: work seamlessly with Design, Engineering, Risk Policy, AI Scientists, and Legal/Compliance to ensure our risk controls and experiences are both effective and delightful.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 12+ years of Product Management experience, with a proven track record in Risk or high-growth Fintech services.
  • Proven People Leader: At least 6+ years of experience managing and developing other Product Managers. You have a reputation for building strong team cultures and developing talent.
  • Deep technical understanding of the Risk:
  • Onboarding & Compliance including progressive onboarding, KYC/KYB, AML, and identity verification

  • Fraud prevention and mitigation including ATO detection, adaptive authentication & step up, first-party fraud, organized/fraud-ring detection, and multi-vendor decisioning.

  • Decisioning platforms: real-time decisioning, rules/policy engines, ML feature stores, and data infrastructure that powers risk decisions.

  • Exceptional Communication: You are a master at storytelling. You can translate technical risk concepts into compelling business narratives for executive audiences and stakeholder partners.
  • Platform & Scalability Mindset: You don't just solve for today; you build for tomorrow. You have experience delivering platform-level features that serve multiple products or business units.
  • Strategic & Analytical: Highly proficient in using data to identify trends, measure impact, and drive prioritization. You understand the math behind fraud - balancing loss rates against customer conversion.
  • Education: BS or MS in a technical or business field, or equivalent experience in a highly technical product environment.
