The FLP Tech team's mission is to create an environment where Intuit's Finance, Legal and Privacy teams can do the best work of their lives. Within FLP Tech, the IES Mid-Market business continues to demand technical solutions that accelerate the lead-to-cash sales cycle, and Contracts is a key piece of that end-to-end process. We are hiring a Staff Engineer to act as Technical Lead of the IES Contracts POD, working with architects across orgs and business units to deliver solutions for the IES Mid-Market lead-to-cash process. You will be part of a cross-functional Agile Scrum team, working with a mix of business partners, developers, product managers and business analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Technical Lead of the IES Contracts POD: own the tech vision and strategy for the Contracts domain and deliver solutions for the IES Mid-Market lead-to-cash process, working with architects across orgs and BUs
  • Gather functional requirements, develop technical specifications, and own project and test planning
  • Design and develop applications, prototypes, and proofs of concept (POCs); stay hands-on in coding
  • Define success by integrating project metrics and measurable outcomes with business goals including reduction in lead-to-cash cycle time for IES Mid-Market
  • Lead through ambiguity: frame customer problems, own problem validation, and influence roadmaps to ensure solutions address customer pain points
  • Navigate Intuit toward Ecosystems and Platform thinking: steward short- and long-term strategy and trade-offs across business and technology, own current and future state, and drive delivery through clear, bite-size steps
  • Support execution teams with complex development and operational challenges through hands-on technical leadership via code design and contributions
  • Engineer closed-loop agentic workflows that automate tasks in the PDLC; establish coding and agent best practices, and guide engineers to break work into pieces agents can execute reliably
  • Apply a left-shift mindset i.e. play Dev, QE and Ops roles throughout the development lifecycle and own E2E quality of the deliverable
  • Demonstrate tech leadership: elevate the effectiveness of your own team, other teams, and cross-functional partners; mentor engineers and new team members, provide actionable feedback to senior engineers, and independently resolve complex tech or process barriers
  • Work cross-functionally with product management, various product lines, and business units to drive forward results
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of the project using Agile/SCRUM methodologies

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience architecting and designing Oracle ERP & SaaS offerings, leading design for complex Finance applications
  • Hands-on technical contributor: 70%+ of time on technical contributions (design, coding, code reviews), with ~50% on coding and code reviews
  • BTech/MTech in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Expertise in the software design/architecture process; experience with Domain-Driven Design and hexagonal architecture
  • Experience in some of the following: RESTful or GraphQL web services with Java, Spring Boot, DynamoDB, React JS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, Camunda, AWS, Oracle SQL & PL/SQL
  • Experience with unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD); Kubernetes/Docker and CI/CD
  • Experience using AI coding assistants and agentic workflows in the development lifecycle, with strong judgment in reviewing, guardrailing, and owning AI-generated code before release; able to evaluate potential AI solutions for the team
  • Track record of solving highly complex technical challenges and delivering durable capabilities leveraged across the organization
  • Demonstrated "lead with scale": sees the holistic view, works across the boundaries where systems collide and intersect, defines interfaces, and delivers outcomes within and across organizations removing mismatches between organizational, technological and governance boundaries
  • Evaluates leading industry trends and recommends new and emerging technologies to meet business goals or simplify existing processes
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
  • Self-starter with a willingness to dive in and figure things out; futuristic, strategic and analytical thinker who is hypothesis-driven and uses data, judgment and pattern recognition to learn and move quickly
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience leveraging, contributing to and leading open-source community projects
  • Nice to have: experience with enterprise Finance products (Oracle ERP, Coupa, Aravo) and good functional knowledge of Finance, Payments, and Sourcing
