Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As an Accountant, Technical Accounting & Employee Benefits, located at Deere & Company World Headquarters based in Moline, IL, you will be responsible for U.S. defined benefit pension and other post retirement benefit (OPEB) accounting. You will also prepare the worldwide pension and OPEB disclosures included in the Company’s quarterly and annual filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In addition, you will:


• Coordinate and consult with the Company’s actuaries
• Provide recommendations to senior management on assumptions used to calculate U.S. pension and OPEB expense
• Facilitate the disclosure process with international units and provide guidance on defined benefit pension and OPEB accounting
• Prepare audited financial statements for the U.S. pension and VEBA benefit plans
• Review XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) filings submitted to the SEC
• Respond to accounting and audit questions.

What Skills You Need

• 7 or more years of experience in accounting, finance and/or audit
• Extensive knowledge of with Accounting Principles Generally Accepted in the US (US GAAP)
• Exceptional financial analysis skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

What Makes You Standout

  • External financial reporting experience either at a public company or at a public accounting firm
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to complex accounting topics
  • Understanding of US GAAP defined benefit pension and OPEB accounting
  • CPA certificate

Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
