The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student - Software Engineer for Deere & Company World Headquaters located in Moline, IL, you will:

  • Support development and maintenance of audit reports, dashboards, and data analytics used by Internal Audit teams
  • Assist with testing, documentation, and enhancement of audit data sources and automated processes
  • Help analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, or potential risks relevant to audit activities
  • Support ongoing improvement of audit tools and platforms (e.g., reporting systems and audit management tools)
  • Document processes, user guides, and standard work for analytics and technology solutions
  • Collaborate with auditors and technology audit team members on innovation and efficiency ideas

This position is not available to students on immigration visas

What Skills You Need

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical field
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university/college
  • Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
  • Available to work 16-20 hours a week during the academic year
  • Avalailable to work 35-40 hours a week during summer semester
  • Foundational knowledge of software development concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented programming
  • Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or similar) through coursework, projects, or internships
  • Basic understanding of databases and data handling (e.g., SQL concepts, data modeling, or file‑based data)
  • Familiarity with version control concepts (e.g., Git or similar tools)
  • Ability to analyze problems, break them into logical steps, and propose technical solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, reliable work
  • Ability to document code, processes, and technical decisions clearly
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical partners
  • Willingness and ability to learn new tools, technologies, and frameworks quickly
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong time management skills and ability to balance academic and work commitments
  • Must be able to commute to the designed work location in Moline, IL, on a regular basis. NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided.
