Director, Digital Product Management Engagement Lead

The Opportunity
The Global Digital Acceleration team (GDA) is looking for a Digital Product Management (DPM) Engagement Lead, to drive adoption and improved ways of working for our Digital Properties across the enterprise. The DPM Engagement Lead acts as the lead facilitator, partnering with product managers, product owners, business leaders, technology leaders and other collaborators to activate and evolve our digital practices and capabilities. You will also support improved ways of working for teams and business units to continuously deliver value in a timely manner.
In summary, the DPM Engagement Lead will assume the role of a key partner in assigned Business Units to ensure we increasingly provide an exceptional digital customer experience, differentiated from our competitors, to drive industry leading outcomes.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate through ongoing engagement with business units and digital product leadership to advance their maturity in digital practices and team ways of working
- Contribute to and align on strategies, roadmaps, and plans for transfer of knowledge and skills to business units and related digital product leadership teams, enabling long-term growth and improvements to digital customer capabilities
- Develop fit-for-purpose approaches to aid digital property teams in realizing digital customer leadership goals inside the organization.
- Work with teams to analyze current state and close gaps relative to our vision, to enable maturity against digital practices and ways of working.
- Partner with the training team to identify needs and develop strategies in support of organizational knowledge build.
- Support the development and ongoing improvement to our DPM toolkit to support Digital Product Management across the org
- Drive community engagement through active participation (online & in person) in communities of practice and other forums
- Stay connected to emerging trends and standard methodologies related to digital product management in contributing to evolving our global, industry-leading mandate.
- Contribute your own subject matter expertise to our global digital team’s evolving guidelines and standards:
- Contribute thought leadership and build out the Product Management practice capabilities, framework, and operating model
- Support the GDA in implementing the product operating model so that the organization is structured to deliver end-to-end value for the customer
- Drive continuous improvement, find opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains, ensuring they are sustained over time
- Supervise the efficiency of the operating model in line with internal goals and market trends, and make vital adjustments
- Use your strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data to influence decision-making
- Collaborate with product leaders, SMEs, and instructional designers to build engaging, hands-on workshops that bridge theory and practice
- Contribute to design and delivery of transformative learning experiences that empower product teams to excel in a rapidly evolving landscape.
- Identify further opportunities for training, tooling and processes that the GDA could add to our portfolio of resources
Required Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of digital product management experience with a comprehensive understanding of digital engagement
- 10+ years working in an agile, digital product management environment
- Extensive knowledge on digital practices and governance
- Product Management certification
- MBA, engineering or equivalent degree preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- A persuasive communicator adept at building trust and recognized as a key leader in the organization
- Passionate about emerging digital customer enablement technologies and their impact on user experiences
- Organizationally savvy with a curiosity about influencing action.
- Intellectually curious and thrives in ambiguous environments.
- Experienced with Executive-facing communication and presentation.
- Skilled with Stakeholder management and communication
- Proficient in definition of outcomes, communicating progress, and facilitating planning meetings.
- Knowledgeable in digital product management, agile ways of working and Human Centered Design (HCD) concepts
- Background in Financial Services/Insurance is a plus

Salary range is expected to be between
$110,530.00 CAD - $205,270.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
