We are seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Product Owner to join our team and lead the development and optimization of our Omni-channel communications platform. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background and a deep understanding of customer-centric product development. In this role, you will be responsible for communicating effectively with business customers, gathering business requirements, and translating them into actionable technical stories for the development team. As the Technical Product Owner, you will ensure that the squad adheres to agile practices, including conducting regular ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. You will also be responsible for planning the technical roadmap, prioritizing features, and ensuring that delivery is on track to meet business objectives. Your leadership will be crucial in driving innovation and maintaining a seamless communication experience for our customers.

Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the Omni-channel communications platform team to deliver a seamless and efficient communication process for our customers.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to gather and prioritize requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Monitors and generates reports on product Key Performance Indicators
- Apply data and customer feedback to continuously improve the digital communication experience.
- Manage the technology product backlog, define user stories, and set sprint goals.
- Act as the main liaison between customers and the development team, ensuring clear communication and understanding of product vision and goals.
- Supervise and report on product performance, making data-driven decisions to improve the customer experience.
- Monitor system performance, identify optimization opportunities, and ensure seamless operation.
- Develop and maintain documentation for business and technical processes.
- Lead the development and execution of a long-term platform strategy aligned with technology architectural and business goals.
- Brings an innovative mentality to improving and elevating technology solutions and enablers
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in a technical product owner, project management, platform engineer, or similar role
- Solid understanding of life insurance industry workflows and processes, particularly relevant to the products being used
- Superb communication, collaboration, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to translate business needs into effective solutions
- Experience with program and agile delivery methodologies
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with project tracking software (e.g Jira)
- Agile methodology experience
- Communication Platform experience (Twilio, SendGrid)
- Experience with Azure, AKS on Azure
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Experience with DevOps principles and tools
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Salary range is expected to be between
$75,880.00 CAD - $140,920.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
