This role is responsible for service delivery of highly complex transactions across multiple domains, perform various financial reports and operational audits, and escalate any issues or potential risk to Management. Will act as a OIC, Subject Matter Expert and process training resource. Perform projects and adhoc tasks as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:
Diligently work with the clients to obtain timely responses and/or elections from fund managers.
• Timely submission of responses and/or elections and ensure such instructions are received and accepted for processing by the custodian banks.
• Verify entitlements with respective custodian banks for daily corporate action events.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of trades, corporate action events and cash and stock transactions into the system.
• Review reconciliation discrepancies and process necessary adjustments into the accounting system.
• Manage trade exceptions trapped in the system exception queue.
• Acts as a liaison between onshore and proxy vendor.
• Provide periodic reports to business units and/or clients.
• Work within existing procedures and processes ensuring clear and concise documentation is created and maintained.
• Provide support to the team as required, to participate in a regular program of industry specific training and interdepartmental cross training to ensure continuity of service.
• Recognize lapses on different workflows and recommend/initiate process improvements/control measures
• Mentor junior associates by conducting training and preparing/updating conceptual reference materials
• Actively participate in regular service calls with various internal clients.
• Remain updated with relevant securities industry development and market-specific best practices
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree related to Investment and Finance, Accounting, and similar fields with minimum of two years of work experience in reconciliation in a banking or securities administration environment.
• Knowledge of securities instruments/settlements, foreign exchange and derivative instruments and/or settlements and banking processes
• Thorough knowledge of complex securities would be an asset.
• Investment accounting knowledge.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of back-office accounting systems such as internal investment system, custodian reporting systems, Bloomberg, and Reconciliation systems would be an advantage.
• Client focused with the ability to understand the requirements of clients.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, and attention to details.
• Ability to react quickly and meet tight deadlines maintaining accuracy and thoroughness.
• Excellent English skills, both oral and written, with strong comprehension skills to effectively communicate with internal and external parties.
• Demonstrate initiative and team player.
• Ability to adapt to changes and set priorities.
