Senior Financial Analyst

The Role supports the Head of Finance, Hong Kong and Greater China, WAM Asia. The successful candidate will be accountable for supporting the Hong Kong and Greater China Finance team in delivering/oversighting the monthly production and analysis of financial results for the HK and Greater China WAM. Key responsibilities include financial reporting and analysis, monthly forecast and annual budget, supporting our current finance transformation initiatives and ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place.
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversee total assets under management reporting and assist with the monthly financial accounting and reporting activities for WAM Hong Kong and Greater China, including the monthly preparation of financial results, management reports, trend analysis, account reconciliations and other related reports and key stakeholder deliverables.
- Support monthly forecast and annual planning processes
- Support financial analysis, report to management team and regulators
- Oversee financial reporting across all basis of accounting (IFRS, local GAAP) including internal controls related to financial reporting.
- Oversee business financials, company book closing, ensure timely and accurate submission deliverable to various stakeholders;
- Oversee intercompany transactions, actively liaising with various parties in different locations to ensure books and records are setup in compliance with policy requirements;
- Oversee control documentation and prepare audit requests related to internal and external audit requirements;
- Prepare regulatory returns and ensure compliance of regulatory capital requirement in a timely and accurate manner;
- Perform monthly cash flow forecast and regulatory capital projection
- Prepare and review tax filings for the legal entities per the tax regulation and ensure appropriate documentation for tax compliance;
- Participate in regular and ad hoc projects as required;
- Support/Review revenue booking process
Required Qualifications:
- Accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) with 5+ years of relevant experience in progressive accounting roles.
- University degree in business, finance or equivalent.
- Asset management and/or insurance investment industry experience an asset;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence effectively.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, particularly in the area of using sound, independent judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Results oriented, able to manage expectations, work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent customer focus and commitment to quality.
- Strong business acumen with ability to communicate complex concepts and results in a clear, concise, easy to understand manner (written and verbal).
- Strong analytical and technical skills with great attention to details
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications quickly
- Essbase and Lawson knowledge (or other complex GL package) would be an asset
- Fluent written and spoken English
