AML Alerts Review Analyst

We’re looking for an AML Alerts Review Analyst to join our The Integrated Compliance Services (ICS) team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to will support the Canadian Division Segment to identify potential unusual activities that may be indicators of money laundering, fraud or terrorist financing, monitors and investigates clients and their financial activities to detect irregularities, reduce fraud risks and comply with government regulations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Investigate first-level AML alerts daily, including Manulife bank, non-bank transactions, and Bridger alerts, to detect irregularities and mitigate reputational risks.
- Analyze incoming foreign wire transfers and third-party payments weekly to assess the country of origin, relationship, and source of funds.
- Review and manage MBC DOT Fraud Cases, create Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs), and ensure timely FINTRAC regulatory reporting to meet compliance obligations.
- Follow AML guidelines, applying enhanced due diligence for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), high-risk clients, and government regulations.
- Maintain accurate case management and record-keeping protocols, ensuring comprehensive reviews and monitoring of high-risk clients through Risk-Based Due Diligence reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-year experience in finance, insurance operations or AML/Compliance related work.
- Technologically savvy – ability to learn to navigate multiple systems. Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s degree and/or associate degree plus equivalent combination of education, additional certification and/or experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate complex issues and circumstances to all levels of staff and management.
- Amenable to work on day shift
