Under general supervision, responsible for moderately complex accounting activities of MBPS WAM Asia Expense and Treasury - South East Asia, such as creating standard journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting with the preparation of state filings, footnotes, and financial statement pages. Responsible as well for basic analysis with respect to specific areas of focus.


Position Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates a working knowledge of accounting rules, regulatory rules and/or business processes as it pertains to the accountant's sphere of responsibility (e.g., a set of regulatory filings or account reconciliations)
• Demonstrates basic analytical and inquiry skills.
• Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of specific reporting concepts as they relate to a specific area of focus
• Effective interaction and communication skills to communicate issues to management and collaborate with colleagues.

Required Qualifications:



• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
• Typically, up to 3 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrates a commitment to attain a working knowledge of accounting bases as they pertain to their current area of focus.
• Demonstrates a limited knowledge of the life insurance regulatory environment.
• Strong computer skills and a working knowledge of MS Excel and the Essbase add-in
• Demonstrates a commitment to understand Lawson accounting segments and Essbase roll ups.
• Demonstrates proficiency with JETS to create and post journal entries.
• Other duties as assigned
