This opportunity is for a Software Quality Assurance role that plays a vital part in ensuring the reliability and performance of Manulife’s IT applications and services. By maintaining and enhancing existing systems, this role directly supports our mission to deliver seamless and secure digital experiences to our customers. Position Responsibilities:

  • Reviews user stories, specifications and technical design documents and translates to provide meaningful feedback to product developers
  • Designs detailed and comprehensive test cases
  • Conduct functional testing and system integration testing
  • Perform SIT, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), rehearsal testing and post deployment checking
  • Demo testing based on the acceptance criteria of the user stories
  • Identifies KPIs for product quality
  • Tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities, defect frequency first time pass rate
  • Keeps up-to-date on latest test software and frameworks
  • Drives software development process to quality-centric methodologies
  • Identifies Quality Assurance process bottlenecks and design and implement solutions
  • Controls, updates and distributes new and revised quality standards and technical changes
  • Prepares and deliver formal quality audit reports
  • Assist the product owner in formulating or revising user stories as needed
  • Join Scrum meetings, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retro and other related sessions as needed
  • Support change team in preparing training materials, process manuals etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience in Software Quality Assurance (SQA).
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevOps toolchains (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Strong background in designing and executing comprehensive, detailed, and effective test cases.
  • Demonstrated expertise in QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex systems with a keen attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Growth mindset with a willingness to learn from both successes and setbacks.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and creative approach to overcoming challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in testing platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle, and Microservices is a strong advantage
  • ISTQB certification is a plus
  • Background in the insurance industry is preferred but not required
