Business Intelligence Technical Lead

We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Technical Lead to join our Business Insights and Analytics team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to collaborate closely to the business and project teams in order to transform data into insights, to recommend appropriate visualizations and reporting solutions, and to build a high-performing team of data analytics professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with the AVP Strategy & Analytics, the NATO leadership team, and other colleagues & partners, understand Treasury Operations’ context, opportunities and pain points, and propose ways we can use data and analytics to improve reporting, generate insights, support business goals, and solve problems
- Process new reporting, analytics, dashboard requests + lead on their delivery
- Leverage Manulife’s available technology to build or improve easy-to-use and sustainable solutions
- Advise NATO leadership on ways we can use data, BI, analytics to achieve our business objectives
- Implement various types of periodic & ad-hoc reporting
- Streamline data collection methods to create automated, standardized and easy-to-use routines
- Perform data cleansing, processing, and validation as required
- Assess our current level of data & analytics maturity, as well as our current technical infrastructure (eg: sources, ingestion, transformation, storage, augmentation, presentation, etc), and recommend ways to optimize
- Help us find ways to use AI & automation to make reporting, analytics and dashboarding more automated, centralized, self-serve, real time, etc
- Partner with NATO colleagues doing similar work + coach/support those less experienced as needed
- Proactively recommend reporting, analytics & BI best practices, and also stay abreast of what else is happening internally & externally in these areas
- Coordinate with our key internal partners as needed (eg: Group Functions Advanced Analytics, Group Functions Technology, etc)
- Assist stakeholders with reporting & analytics tool adoption as needed
- Build strong relationships and credibility with stakeholders inside & outside the department
- Lead or support other reporting & analytics activities as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree holders are welcome to apply
- Experience: At least seven years of extensive experience in Power Platforms (especially Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate) and other Business Intelligence tools, big data, and Azure platforms
- Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation)
- Shift Schedule night): Amenability to work on the assigned schedule (dependent on business need)
- Minimum Skills to Hire/Must Haves:
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of reports and dashboard development in multiple BI platforms: Power Platforms, Qlikview, SQL, Data Lake
- Ability to identify and resolve issues, and recommend best visualizations and reporting solutions based on reporting requirements
- Ability to coach and provide support to subordinates, project teams, and stakeholders
- Planning and organizational skills, including ability to prepare schedules and communicate status of overall development effort
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) Certified
