Senior Financial Analyst - US Controls COE

The role focuses on the company’s internal controls and aligns with SOX. Facilitating the interim and quarterly SOX audits is part of the role as well as monitoring, coordinating and ensuring that control deficiencies, if there are, are remediated timely.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform reinsurance accounting activities ensuring adherence to accounting models (e.g., standard/non-standard journal entries, account monitoring/reconciliations as necessary)
- With respect to specific areas of focus, assist in analyzing reinsurance results and treaty activity; detect, investigate & explain irregularities
- Assist in timely and accurate delivery of routine reinsurance reporting deliverables, and compiling information for ad hoc requests
- Demonstrate eagerness and initiative in contributing to reinsurance projects, and in learning complex technical subject matter
- Show proficiency with reporting and analysis tools
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of BS Accountancy
- 3+ years in the insurance industry and reinsurance
- Willing to work from 8pm to 5am PHT in Quezon City
- Knowledge of accounting/ledger systems, tools (e.g., Essbase/Smartview), and financial reporting processes
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently a CPA licensure holder
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage priorities, proactively investigate issues, troubleshoot, learn new applications quickly, use judgment, and deliver timely and quality results
- Strong professional judgement, accountability, customer service, and eye for efficiency improvements
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and integrate with internal team members
