The Financial Analyst will primarily be responsible for Wealth & Asset Management (WAM) Asset Under Management (AUM) Accounting & Reporting processes and controls, supporting the monthly close, driving regional and global projects and initiatives, and coordinating process standardization and documentation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for monitoring WAM AUM Accounting and Reporting processes and controls.
  • Monitoring and onboarding of new fund distributors to the system.
  • Preparation for monthly fund business activity – launches, terminations, and large transactions
  • Assist in preparation of AUM Reporting through production and consolidation processes
  • Perform database maintenance upon business updates and changes
  • Implement completeness checks for business source files, working papers and finance database
  • Assist in the consolidation of AUM, Flows and Revenue for various internal databases
  • Review and reconcile data sets/extracts and support team in various monthly and quarterly reporting to groups throughout Manulife Investment Management (MIM) and Manulife

  • Perform controls and ensure compliance with company accounting and finance policies and procedures
  • Maintain control documentation and prepare audit requests related to internal and external audit requirements
  • Be an integral part of finance initiatives / projects related to accounting and reporting, including ad hoc business requests.
  • Promote a culture of standardization and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Data Management and Governance background.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-performing, and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests
  • Extensive experience with MS Excel including working with Macros and other Excel add-ins
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently with less supervision
  • Proactive in executing and owning the processes and controls
  • Excels in a team environment interacting with both business and finance colleagues
  • Experience in working as an offsite support to business functions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience for over 3 years in a Finance role, insurance or Investments experience would be an advantage.
  • CPA degree or any data management certification is a plus
  • Experience in Essbase, Infor and Power BI would be an advantage
