Actuarial Senior Analyst, Canada ASSC

We are currently searching for a talented and motivated senior analyst to join our MBPS Canada Actuarial Shared Service Center (Canada ASSC) team. Our team primarily supports the reserving and reporting of our key financial metrics for our Canadian lines of business, with team members located in Toronto, Waterloo, Montreal and Manila.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and run valuation models of various lines of business for quarterly reserve calculation and financial reporting, primarily using Moody’s Analytics AXIS software. Present results and recommendations to the manager as well as other affected personnel in the actuarial area as well as the line functions.
Analyze reserve, capital and risk calculations and provide commentary on results to our contacts in Canada.
Be involved with change management of our actuarial models, including assumption updates, model refinements, and new product implementation.
Maintain an awareness of department/division activity and may initiate own projects.
Become a person of contact when engaging with various business units to provide technical support for any questions raised during the engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
Knowledgeable in various actuarial concepts and their application to life insurance, including finance theory and life contingencies; specifically, knowledge on business drivers to our financial metrics such as reserving.
Demonstrate working knowledge in actuarial modelling software, such as Moody’s Analytics AXIS. Experience using database software such as MS Access, SQL or their equivalents is preferred, but not required.
Have a solid foundation in spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel
Knowledge in navigating through dashboards such as Qlikview is preferred, but not required
Ability to communicate output clearly and concisely both orally and in technical writing. Experience writing technical reports and presentation of results is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills; good team player.
Can perform tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
Driven to attain designation in any recognized actuarial organization (e.g. SoA, ASP). Having passed at least one SoA exam is a plus.
Amenable to work in UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City)
Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite)
