Financial Analyst, Real Estate Investment Operations

Reporting to the Director, Fund Accounting, the Analyst will play a key role in supporting end‑to‑end fund operations and comprehensive financial reporting for a Canadian‑domiciled fund and its portfolio of investment properties. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial management reports, along with investor reporting. The Analyst will collaborate closely with Fund Operations, Accounting, Portfolio Management, Risk and Compliance, and external partners—including the fund’s custodian and administrator—to ensure efficient fund processes, strong financial oversight, and high‑quality reporting across all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily, monthly and quarterly Fund Administration deliverables

  • Prepare and aid in review of the NAV, Valuation and Transfer Agent process (Ownership, Capital Queue, Capital Calls and Distributions)

  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting oversight including financial statements according to accounting standards and conduct comprehensive business focus variance analysis and commentaries

  • Responsible for reconciliation and escalation of issues arising in the recon between the Administrator and Internal Book of Record

  • Create and monitor cash flow projections, prepare cash call and distribution instructions

  • Provide internal & external audit support including gathering and collecting financial related information

  • Assist in the accounting of property acquisitions and dispositions and participate in the due diligence and statement of adjustment phases, as required

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improving quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of team deliveries

  • Actively contribute to process improvement and participate in special projects for the ongoing advancement of best-in-class capabilities and service excellence

  • Prepare and review financial accounting working papers to ensure accurate accounting including follow-ups and resolutions as required for best-in-class service and for both internal and external auditors

  • Ability to work well with multiple teams


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate/Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Partial/Completion of Professional accounting designation (CPA) a plus

  • 2-3 years of accounting/finance experience (preferably in real estate)

  • Competencies and experience in some of the following: real estate, accounting standards, finance, audit, management, and design, implementation, and presentation of advanced financial and business focused reporting.

  • Excellent communication including strong written and verbal communication

  • Investran and Yardi experience would be an asset

  • Highly organized with an exceptional attention to detail

  • Effective time management skills; works well under pressure to meet tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities; ability to prioritize workload; willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change

Salary range is expected to be between

$62,850.00 CAD - $104,750.00 CAD
