The opportunity
Join our dynamic Digitalization and Automation team supporting Retirement Operations. We are looking for a proactive, experienced Business Analyst who thrives in fast‑paced environments, takes initiative, and brings strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
In this role, you will lead your own automation and process-improvement initiatives, partnering closely with our developers and business stakeholders to design and deliver solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and mitigate risk.
Success in this role requires strong BA experience, the ability to work independently, and a passion for driving meaningful change.
Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Delivery
- Lead and execute business analysis activities for automation initiatives, including:
- Requirement gathering
- Future-state process mapping
- Gap analysis
- Cost-benefit analysis
- Own end-to-end BA deliverables across multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for development teams.
- Identify benefits, acceptance criteria, risks, dependencies, and assumptions with clarity and precision.
- Own and coordinate user acceptance testing with business partners.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Provide team leadership through strong communication, prioritization, and support across initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with business partners, technology teams, and stakeholders.
- Communicate status updates, risks, and successes in a clear and collaborative manner.
- Support broader team initiatives and continuously look for ways to improve team processes and business outcomes.
Solution Support
- Work directly with developers to design and enhance:
- Web applications
- Power Platform solutions
- Other automation technologies
- Ensure solutions are built using best practices, including scalable design and alignment to Manulife standards.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Previous Business Analyst experience (Senior BA-level experience strongly preferred).
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Agile planning practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction while managing shifting priorities.
- Strong time management, communication, and documentation skills.
- High attention to detail with a willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
- Creative problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
- Ability to build process visuals using tools such as:
- Visio
- Excel
- Power BI
- PowerPoint
- Strong collaborator with experience building relationships across business and technical teams.
- Experience with programming languages, data platforms, or tools such as:
- SQL
- C#.NET
- VB / ASP.NET
- Python
- Power Automate / Power Apps / Power BI
(nice to have, not required)
- Knowledge of the financial services industry, or wealth/asset management, is an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between
$59,100.00 CAD - $98,500.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
