We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Analyst, Financial & Workforce Planning to join our team to support our North American Retirement Operations portfolio. Ideally, you are proficient at applying business intelligence and data analysis skills to financial reporting and workforce management use cases. The role has significant exposure to Senior Leadership and opportunities to collaborate with business stakeholders and data professionals alike.
Your day-to-day will involve workforce and capacity planning, budget analysis, and reporting by delivering actionable insights that connect operational performance, staffing trends, and business results. You will develop and maintain documentation for data, reporting, planning, and workflow improvement projects and collaborate with multi-functional teams to promote self-serve reporting, strengthen forecasting and planning processes, and provide actionable insights for our stakeholders. Additionally, you will implement automation and workflow improvements to advance data-driven programs we deliver as a team.
Position Responsibilities:
Deliver budget-related reporting and variance analysis, including trend insights and management commentary to support business planning and decision-making.
Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, resource utilization, and operational effectiveness through analytics, reporting enhancements, and process automation.
Support workforce and capacity planning by analyzing volumes, productivity trends, staffing requirements, and resource allocation needs across operations.
Develop and maintain team documentation for data, reporting, planning, and workflow improvement initiatives.
Partner with multi-functional teams to promote self-serve reporting, support planning and forecasting needs
Implement automation and workflow improvement solutions via Power Platform and Power BI to support scalable reporting, workforce management analysis, and operational decision-making
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience providing operations, reporting, planning, or analytical support in an analyst capacity.
Proficiency in SQL, PowerBI, Power Automate, and Azure Databricks, with strong experience extracting, transforming, and analyzing data to support business decision-making.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to translate technical, operational, and business insights for diverse audiences.
Demonstrable ability to proactively ask questions, analyze trends, influence decisions, and deliver actionable recommendations rather than merely react.
Experience supporting forecasting, workforce planning, capacity planning, budgeting, or variance analysis in an operations or analytical environment.
Strong analytical skills with experience translating data into operational, staffing, and financial insights for decision-makers.
Advanced Excel skills as our stakeholders still mainly use Excel for financial and all-purpose reporting

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on Agile teams using Scrum and Kanban
Experience with Call Centre analytics and operations
Knowledge of Manulife & John Hancock Retirement products systems and operations.
Understanding of the financial/retirement regulatory environment.

Salary range is expected to be between
$113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
