Research Assistant

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Research Assistant to contribute to projects in computational imaging research, with a focus on algorithm development, machine learning, and computational modeling with applications to biomedicine. The position is limited to the summer term (three months).
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development and implementation of machine learning models for medical and imaging data analysis.
- Support algorithm design, optimization, and validation tasks, including work on neural networks, computer vision techniques, and structured data integration.
- Contribute to research on advanced topics such as generative AI models, foundation models, and plug-and-play priors as applicable to computational imaging.
- Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and result interpretation under faculty supervision.
- Assist with manuscript preparation and documentation of research findings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from an accredited U.S. institution.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python, PyTorch, C, C++, and MATLAB, and familiarity with Linux environments.
- Research experience in machine learning (especially generative AI), computer vision, or algorithm development with applications in computational imaging.
- At least one peer-reviewed research publications in relevant fields such as machine learning, computer vision, or computational methods.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY (Commensurate w/exp.)
